Job Description

General Summary: The IP-VPN position exists to perform the cut over of new services being provided on MPLS and VPN network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Technician should provide a professional quality installation to insure client is delivering a positive Customer Experience. Technician will own all aspects of the installation including initial and follow-up communication with the customer

• Handle all pre-test and field test on all products assigned with little supervision.

• Perform moderate level activation of VPN products including IP-VPN or Data based (Layer 3) products

• Perform moderate level troubleshooting with the MPLS and VPN network

• Map DCS cross connects in the network
• Perform moderate level Router configuration on VPN switching platform.

• Must have good understanding of CPE's Cisco and Juniper routers and perform line by line provisioning.

• Familiar with XO/NAC operating procedures, processes, and TBS system

• Perform basic activations of Wireless Routers (Top Global) and firewalls - Cisco ASA.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree in a technical field preferred or equivalent work experience in the activation, troubleshooting and implementation of large scale, multi-location and platform networks.

Licensures: Relevant vendor certifications preferred: CCNA, JNCIA/S/P, Adtran, Hatteras, XO BGP 101/2, etc.

Relevant Work Experience: 4-5 years of work experience in an IP - VPN Firewall Support Environment.

Juniper Routers, Cisco Routers, Adtran, Cisco, Junos, IP Sub-netting and Routing

• Knowledge in IP Standards/Protocols; BGP, IPv.6.
Must be knowledgeable of IP networking and sub-netting (including enterprise routing protocol BGP)

• Must be knowledgeable in at least 2 of the following XO products and services:
DIA, Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MPLS, Cisco ASA - firewalls, Wireless router (top global), ECS- Enterprise Cloud Security, Hosted PBX

• Familiar with XO/.NAC operating procedures, processes, and TBS system.
• Must be knowledgeable and fully proficient in XO system reporting, network architecture and equipment.
• Must show basic knowledge of enterprise connectivity methods including VPLS, MPLS, and Ethernet.
• Must be knowledgeable of CPE including routers and switches.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
• Strong analytical/quantitative skills.
• Strong attention to detail and systems knowledge.
